Porcelain Veneers: Restore Missing or Broken Teeth

Porcelain veneers are a tooth-colored dental solution for stained, chipped, or misshapen teeth. Although porcelain veneers are typically used for aesthetic purposes, they can also help prevent gum disease, tooth decay, and other more serious dental issues.

The veneer shells are made of porcelain and are cemented to the surface of the teeth for a long-lasting solution. Porcelain veneers are often recommended in parallel with a teeth whitening treatment to ensure the brightest and whitest smile.

What Are The Benefits of Porcelain Veneers?

Veneers can solve a number of aesthetic and more serious dental issues. Porcelain veneers can treat the following:

  • Misshapen or broken teeth
  • Teeth that are unusually small
  • Discoloration
  • Gaps in the teeth
  • Worn-down tooth enamel

Porcelain veneers are a discrete, natural-looking solution to improve a patient’s smile and confidence.

What Does The Porcelain Veneers Procedure Involve?

At your initial appointment, our dentist will take a thorough assessment of your mouth, teeth, and gums before moving forward with the procedure. Oour dentist will also ensure there are no underlying oral health issues such as gum disease or tooth decay, which would need to be treated prior to the veneer application.

The diagnosis will involve X-rays of the mouth that will then be sent to the lab for assessment. While you wait for your X-rays to return, our dentist will determine the best color for your veneers to match your natural teeth. It may take a few weeks between appointments to apply the veneers.

After our dentist has determined there are no other health issues, or they have been resolved, you are ready for the veneer preparation. We may put you under a local anesthetic for a more comfortable procedure. Our dentist will then file and reshape the teeth, take a mold of your mouth that will be sent to a lab where the veneers will be made.

Once the mold is ready, oour dentist will apply the porcelain veneers onto your teeth. If needed, they may need to send them back to the lab for adjustments. Porcelain veneers can last up to a few years providing they are looked after well.

Our dental cleaning appointments come with an oral screening as standard, which can help spot the early signs of oral cancer. The screening is super quick, straightforward, and gives you that peace of mind that you’re taking extra steps to look after your health.
